If you're into high-octane racing and a bit of history, Pomona Dragstrip is pretty much a must-visit. This place isn’t just your average track; it’s home to the National Hot Rod Association Hall of Fame, which basically honors the legends who shaped the sport. Think of names like Don Garlits and Bob Glidden, these guys left a lasting mark on the track, and you can almost feel their presence when you’re there. The vibe is electric, especially during big events that stretch on for hours, giving fans plenty of chances to soak up the excitement. Kids aren’t left out either, there's a dedicated kids' area with shaded spots and comfy seating for parents, making it family-friendly without sacrificing the thrill. If you’re coming from Long Beach, just hop on the 605 north and switch to the 10, but heads up, during race weekends, traffic can be a real headache. Still, it’s totally worth it for the adrenaline rush and the history you get to witness firsthand. Honestly, I’ve been there during a big race, and the energy is contagious, you might find yourself cheering for a racer you’ve never even heard of before. Trust me, Pomona Dragstrip isn’t just about racing; it’s about experiencing a piece of motorsport history in action.
